How do I know what cottages are still available?

Use the online service on Yllas Travel's Internet website. Enter ARRIVAL DATE and DEPARTURE DATE and click SHOW COTTAGES to get a list of vacant cottages. You can check the descriptions by clicking the name of the cottage/apartment or View details and book -button.

How can I most easily book a holiday cottage?

Use the online service on Yllas Travel's Internet website. When you have found a suitable cottage, click on BOOK and give your name, address and contact details. You should pay at least deposit (20% of the rent) and the booking fee 20€ in conjunction with the booking by credit card. An invoice for the remaining amount will be e-mailed to the client by no later than the first weekday following the booking date.

You can also make the booking at Yllas Travel sales offices or through our telephone service, in which case Yllas Travel will invoice the client via e-mail after the booking is registered.

What happens once I have booked a cottage?

If you book it in our online reservation system and pay the total amount at the same time, we will send you the confirmation, driving instructions and information how to get the key by e-mail immediately after the payment. If you pay only deposit, we will send you an invoice for the remaining amount by e-mail by no later than the first weekday following the booking date. With the invoice you will also get driving instructions and information how to get the key.

How do I pay?

We will indicate our bank account number in Finland to which payment should be made. The invoice must be settled as a SEPA payment (with IBAN account number and BIC bank code). You can also pay by credit card. We accept VISA, EUROCARD and MASTERCARD. If you wish to pay by credit card, please inform us (by phone or letter) of the 16-digit card number and the 3-digit CVC/CVV number on the signature side of your card and the ’valid until’ date. When paying in our office, we accept also Visa Electron and Maestro cards. When making the reservation in internet, at least deposit should be paid by VISA, Eurocard or Mastercard immediately.

Will I receive confirmation that payment has been received?

No, we do not separately notify customers that payment has been received. If we do not receive payment, however, we will contact you. In internet bookings you will get the confirmation after the payment.

When should I notify my time of arrival at the cottage?

You must notify the cottage owner of your time of arrival in advance and at least 2-3 days before arrival.

What happens if I or one of my family becomes ill and cannot go on holiday? Will I get any money back?

You will get most of your money back. In the case of illness, you will only lose the deposit (20% of the rental) and the booking fee 20€. You must send us a doctor’s certificate and your bank account number. If the cancellation is made later than 48 hours from the start of or during the holiday, payments will not be refunded.
What if I am prevented in some other way from taking the holiday and I have to cancel my booking?

The money you paid will be returned apart from the deposit and booking fee, if you cancel the reservation latest 28 days before the start of the holiday. If the cancellation is made later than 28 days before the holiday, payments will not be refunded.

What if I leave before the end of my holiday? Will I get any money back?

If you cancel your reservation during your holiday, payments will not be refunded.

What if I am prevented in some other way from taking the holiday and I have to cancel my booking?

The money you paid will be returned apart from the deposit and booking fee, if you cancel the reservation latest 28 days before the start of the holiday. If the cancellation is made later than 28 days before the holiday, payments will not be refunded.

Where do I get the key from?

When you make a booking, Yllas Travel will send you instructions on how to reach the cottage by road. Details of the cottage’s owner or caretaker will also be included. This person will give you the keys when you arrive. You should inform your arrival time to the owner or caretaker well in advance.

What should I take with me?

The cottages have all the crockery and utensils for preparing and eating food. Electricity, gas and fuel wood are also covered by the rental (if not otherwise mentioned in the cottage description). Take your own bed linen and towels.

Can I also rent bed linen or towels and, if so, how much will this cost?

You can either book bed linen when making your cottage booking, or hire this direct from the owner when you arrive. In both cases the price is the same, 10 - 25 € per person. The price for linen is given in the cottage description.

Can I bring extra persons to the cottage?

No, you can't. Maximum number of persons is informed in the cottage description and the number of persons coming should be agreed when making the reservation. Maximum number of persons per cottage or what is agreed when making the reservation, must not be exceeded. Please, notice that also small children and babies should be counted into the total number of persons even if they don't need own bed.

Is there a barbecue at the cottage?

If there is a barbecue or barbecue hut at the cottage, it's mentioned in the cottage description. However, please notice that they might not be available during winter time.

Can I bring pets to the cottage?

You can bring a pet to destinations which explicitly allow this. You will find this information in the cottage description: symbol about a dog and text Pets allowed. If you are planning to bring more than one pet, please contact Yllas Travel before making the reservation. It should always be agreed with the owner. Please, notice that some destinations levy an additional fee for pets. The fee is mentioned in the cottage description.

Please, remember to remove all pet hair from the cottage/furniture and faeces from the yard before leaving. Please, make sure that the pet does not cause any damage to the cottage or yard. The customer is responsible about all damages caused by his pet directly to the owner.

At what time can I start to use the cottage?

At 16 o'clock (4 pm) at the earliest.

What if we arrive at night or the following day? How can we get the key?

You must inform the cottage owner or caretaker of your time of arrival in advance. This is especially important if you intend arriving the next day or late at night. The owner or caretaker will then be there to meet you or at least deliver the key.

Will the owner speak English?

Many owners speak passable English.

What if there are language problems?

You can contact Yllas Travel between 8:30 and 17 Monday to Friday and between 10 and 18 on Saturday, tel. +358 306 502 580. During the high season our special service number, +358 400 425 739, can be contacted at weekends as well.

What must I do at the end of my holiday, do I have to clean the cottage?

You can enjoy your holiday to the full right up to the last day without having to clean the cottage at the end of your stay! You can book the final cleaning either in advance from Yllas Travel or from the owner at your holiday location, price € 100 in average (50 - 500 €) depending on the location. The price is given in the cottage description.

If you book final cleaning or it's included in the price, you just need to wash the dishes, take the garbage out to the garbage bins and take empty bottles and beverage cans with you or collect them together for example in a plastic bag. If you have moved furniture, please put them in their original places. If you have rented bed linen, please leave them stacked on the top of the bed. Take the foodstuff you have brought, with you or put them in the garbage bin.

However, if you wish to carry out the final cleaning by yourself, please remember also at least the following rules: rugs or carpets should be vacuum-cleaned, the cottage should be vacuum-cleaned, floors should be wiped over with a damp mop, tables and surfaces should be wiped with a moist cloth, bed linen should be aired outdoors, crockery and cooking utensils should be washed, the sauna and WC should be cleaned, and all waste should be taken to the collection point.

How long can I stay in the cottage on the day of departure?

Until midday (12 o'clock). At the latest then you must return the keys.

What about accommodation in the cities?

The cottages are located mainly ski resorts and rural areas far from towns and villages. .
